Our goal is to expand the ministry of Hillsboro to the priesthood of all believers with the help of members of our church family.  As we move from a "pastoral church" where ministry is primarily limited to the ordained clergy to a "program church" where ministry is expanded to include lay members in spiritual roles, members will have the opportunity to know and care for one another.  This process not only expands but strengthens the bonds of the church family.

Members will be trained by the ministers in pastoral care through continuing workshops and group meetings and will participate in the care of the congregation by visiting members:

• in the hospital
• who are confined to the home for a specific period of time
• who are shut-ins

Our pastors and staff will motivate and empower the congregation to participate in establishing the vision of a "program church."  They will develop and lead quality programs which will emphasize excellence in worship, spiritual growth, Bible study, and strengthening our faith.  Our pastors will offer educational opportunities for pastoring the members who volunteer to carry out this goal and will still be available for pastoring the congregation.
