Hillsboro offers a variety of worship opportunities that are always "come as you are!" Sunday:Contemporary Service - This service is for those who like to worship in a relaxed environment, possibly even drinking their morning cup of coffee. Although, the environment is relaxed all the important elements of a worship service are present, including music which is provided by our Praise Band. Time & Location: 8:30 am in Fellowship Hall. Traditional Service - Here you'll find all the traditional elements of a worship service, including music which is provided by our Chancel Choir. Time & Location: 11:00 am in the Sanctuary. Communion - Communion is served the 1st Sunday of each month at both worship services. Children's Church - Each Sunday a special time is set aside just for our children, during each worship service. Children are called forward for their very own sermon and then dismissed for a special children's worship service geared just for them. Spruce Street Baptist Pulpit Exchange - For over 20 years Hillsboro and Spruce Street Baptist have been partners in worship and ministry. One Sunday each summer the majority of the Hillsboro congregation worships at Spruce Street Baptist Church (504 Spruce St - just off Charlotte St.) at 11 am. One that Sunday there is also one worship service at 11 am in the Hillsboro chapel. On one Sunday in the winter, the Spruce Street congregation comes to worship at Hillsboro. Both the 8:30 and 11:00 am services are held that day. One these two special Sundays, we have lunch together at noon. This amazing friendship between our pastors and among member of our two congregations have been a rich blessing to us all. Unity Services - Four times a year, Hillsboro worships together as one congregation at 10:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Worship styles and music at these service alternate between contemporary (early service) and traditional (late service.) Typically, Sunday School classes are not held on these Sundays, unless a class expressly chooses to do so. The dates for the Unity Services are recommmended by the Worship Team, approved by the Session, and then entered on the Church Calendar.
